Campaign Begins!

This summer I heard about two little children who were diagnosed with a life-changing genetic disease. The family’s life was turned upside down and they are quickly running out of resources to give the kids the care that they desperately need and deserve. Another friend is struggling after losing her son to cancer. One is trying to deal with a family member with substance abuse problems. These people are our fellow State Employees and they all benefit from charities. Charitable organizations are at work for us when we adopt a pet, visit a museum or theatre, need help with unexpected legal trouble, deal with medical issues, and in many other aspects of our lives.

Please take a moment and participate in our State Employee’s Charitable Fund Campaign. The campaign starts TODAY and goes until November 2nd, 2012. Donating is easy, there is no minimum amount, and there are hundreds of different charities that are counting on you. You can do a one time donation or have your contribution taken out of your payroll. Every penny counts!

To donate online go to: http://www.usecf.state.ut.us/. Choose “Pledge Online” and enter your LAN password. On the next page, under “Select Your Contribution Type”, choose either Payroll Deduction Contribution or One Time Contribution. You can search for your favorite charities by entering keywords. You also have the option of contributing to more than one charity. Once you have submitted your contribution, you will still be able to edit it. After you have confirmed your donation, please make sure to print a copy for your tax records (you will notice a “print” button located in the bottom left corner next to the “finish” button). This will be your only opportunity to print the receipt

You can also take your contribution to your Division representative or to Julie Price in Securities or Mia Larson in Administration and they will help you complete the process.

We will be having prize drawings for those who participate, if you do not want to be included let me know. Your donation is confidential.

Our big Heber Wells event, where you can meet some of the charities, is on October 16th (1st floor lobby) from 10-12. Hope to see you all there.
